Islamabad: The details of the bill for the extraordinary increase in the privileges of the chairman of the Senate have been revealed, in which many facilities have also been given to the family members.
According to the document, the families of the Senate Chairman will also get private treatment facilities, while the rent of the Senate Chairman’s residence has been increased to two and a half lakh rupees per month.
The Chairman of the Senate can take one family member with him on a trip abroad, while the Chairman can also take 4 members of his family in the government plane, now the family members of the Chairman of the Senate will also be entitled to use government vehicles.
After the increase in privileges, the Senate Chairman can also have a personal staff of 12 officials, up to 50 lakhs can be spent on the renovation of the Senate Chairman’s house, while the Senate Chairman will now be able to use the discretionary fund up to Rs.18 lakhs.
Under the new law, all ex-chairmen of the Senate will get additional privileges for life, while those who have been chairman for three years will also be entitled to additional privileges.
All former chairmen will also now get dozens of security personnel and the Senate chairman will receive the Vice President’s protocol when traveling abroad.
The Senate approved the bill to increase the chairman’s allowance on June 16. After the budget session, the bill will be sent to the National Assembly for approval.
