The inside story of the negotiations between the government and the Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) came out after several months.
Federal Law Minister Senator Azam Nazir Tarar said in the Geo News program ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada ke saat’ that Imran Khan sabotaged the negotiations by rejecting the government’s proposals.
He said that in the last round of negotiations, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry and Ali Zafar had agreed on the date of new elections on September 30 or October 1.
The federal law minister further said that after the consensus, Imran Khan imposed new conditions and rejected the government’s proposals.
He said that a transparent investigation will reveal that the audio is engineered. If so, who is doing it? The purpose of setting up the commission of inquiry is not disciplinary action.
Azam Nazir Tarar also said that the Chief Justice had said that he would like to hear the Attorney General, the reputation of the institution was being affected, a written request was made to the Chief Justice.
He said that when the PTI people came back, they said that they will dissolve the assemblies immediately, then the chairman will agree.
