Why is afternoon exercise better than morning exercise for diabetics?

Massachusetts: When it comes to balancing sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes, researchers say afternoon exercise is more beneficial than morning exercise.

According to research published in Diabetes Care, researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Joslin Diabetes Center studied patients with type 2 diabetes and found that patients who exercised during the afternoon half of the day, after 1 year, had Balanced blood sugar levels were observed to be much better.

The study also found that managing sugar levels is more important in people with type 2 diabetes who face increased risks of heart, kidney and vision problems.

“We know that physical activity is beneficial, but what our study shows is that the timing of physical activity also matters,” said co-author Dr. Zhengyi Qian from Brigham.
