Taipei: The body of an 18-year-old student in Taiwan was found on the balcony of her apartment two hours before she married a 26-year-old boy in court.
According to the international news agency, the 18-year-old student had inherited around two billion rupees.
Immediately after that, young Lai went to court and married 26-year-old Hsia, an estate agent working for his father. Lai’s body was found in the apartment two hours after the marriage was registered.
Note that same-sex marriage is allowed in Taiwan and, under the Civil Code, same-sex couples have all legal rights after marriage, including inheritance.
Students Lai and Hsia had met only twice and decided to get married.
Life partner Hasia also lived on one floor of the building where the body of the young student was found, who has been detained by the police.
Forensic expert Cao Tacheng claimed that Lai’s injuries indicated that she had been poisoned and then thrown down to cause suicide.
The student’s mother alleged that her son was killed for the huge amount of money she inherited and the death is being painted as a suicide.
The victim’s mother also claimed that her son was not gay.
