A BJP leader’s husband was beaten up in a police station in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Samajwadi Party leader Rakesh Pratab Singh assaulted Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) municipal election candidate Rashmi Singh’s husband Deepak Singh.
The incident took place at Goriganj Kotwali police station in Amethi district.
Several policemen were also present at the time of the incident who tried to stop Rakesh Pratab from violence.
The Samajwadi Party leader said that he was sitting in the protest when Deepak Singh came to the police station and abused him which he could not control himself.
Rakesh Pratab was protesting because Deepak and his supporters had killed one of Rakesh’s workers but the police had not taken any action.
Police say that now this matter has been resolved, legal action will be taken against both leaders, cases have been registered.
