Interim bail granted to Imran Khan in the case of inciting the institutions to revolt

Islamabad: The High Court granted interim bail to Imran Khan in the case of inciting the institutions to revolt.

The hearing was held in the Islamabad High Court on the request of Chairman PTI Imran Khan, in which the court started the hearing by removing the objections of the Registrar’s Office.

In front of Chief Justice Amir Farooq, Advocate General Islamabad said that Islamabad Court is being shifted to Judicial Complex. Once the request comes, it is fixed. If any Allah Dutta comes, will he also get this relief? The court remarked that there have been 2 applications of Allah Dutta, I have seen them too. Petitioners are also citizens, they also have rights. First case came today, now marking 2 cases.

Later, the court granted Imran Khan’s interim bail till May 3 against a surety of Rs 100,000 in the case of inciting the institutions to revolt.

Advocate Faisal Chaudhry pleaded with the court that Imran Khan wanted to speak before the court, on which the Chief Justice directed him to say whatever he had to say through his lawyer. The court, while pronouncing the decision, stopped the police from arresting Imran Khan.

After the hearing in the court, Imran Khan remained in the court room for a long time, where he consulted the PTI negotiation committee and gave instructions to Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Fawad Chaudhry on the issue of talks with the government.

Earlier, Imran Khan filed a bail application in the Islamabad High Court and requested a hearing today. The plea contended that there were serious security threats, which could lead to another murderous attack. The court should grant interim bail itself instead of the trial court.

Meanwhile, the registrar’s office objected to the application, saying that how can the direct high court file bail instead of the trial court? Later, on the occasion of hearing, the court overruled the objections of the Registrar’s Office.

It should be noted that a case was registered against Imran Khan in Ramna police station on April 7, and the Lahore High Court granted Imran Khan’s protective bail till April 26 in the same case.

Police, FC, Rangers, Anti-Terrorist Squad and Ladies Police were deployed on the occasion of Imran Khan’s appearance in Islamabad High Court while strict security arrangements were made around the High Court. On this occasion, shops in the surrounding areas were also completely closed while alternative routes were arranged for traffic.
