Explosives inside police station not terrorism, IGP

Peshawar: IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Gandapur says that the explosion in the CTD police station was not an act of terrorism, but explosive materials inside the police station exploded.

While talking to the media, IGP said that the investigation into negligence and other aspects of the blast is ongoing.

Akhtar Hayat Gandapur said that in the explosion, 5 prisoners in custody were also killed while 9 policemen and 3 civilians were killed.

On the other hand, the explosives in the CTD police station were defused, the explosions were heard from far away. Police say people should not panic as explosives are being defused.

People came out on the streets against the explosion in Kabul CTD police station and a demonstration is being held outside the police station.

Protesters say that they will not tolerate unrest if the explosion is investigated, the terrorist incident is being given a wrong color. The protesters have blocked the Kabul Chowk.
