Harvard: Prominent scientists have said that stress is a very destructive thing that by controlling it, we can turn back our biological clock in just a few days.
Harvard University experts have said that stress makes you old from the inside and hence it is important to avoid it. One is our apparent age and the other is biological age which is down to the level of cells and molecules. This age is called biological age which is the most important.
If you are healthy, your biological age should be less than the apparent or historical age. However, prolonged illness, poor physical condition, or other conditions can increase biological age, with damage to cells, then cells, and then organs.
But it is possible to turn back the biological aging clock by just a few days by reducing stress. Dr. Wedham Gladshew of Harvard Medical School, along with experts from Duke University, conducted experiments on mice. A description of this is published in ‘Cell Metabolism’.
According to the research, mice were first placed under stress and during this time biomarkers of biological aging were noted. They were then de-stressed and re-tested under normal conditions. This proves that stress is a very harmful substance that affects us at the cellular level.
