Lahore High Court stopped the police from harassing Imran Khan

A five-member larger bench of the Lahore High Court restrained the police from harassing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan.

A hearing was held in the High Court on the request of Imran Khan against filing similar cases and to stop the possible Zaman Park operation. Imran Khan appeared in the court.

Justice Ali Baqir Najafi remarked that we do not see anything urgent in this request, we have seen a very sad situation outside Zaman Park in the recent past.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Barrister Sultan Safdar argued that one case after another is being registered against Imran Khan, 80 cases have been registered against Imran Khan in Punjab, the courts can stop the misuse of police powers. We have received information that an operation may take place during the Eid holidays. Give us relief for five days. Because the courts and the doors of justice will be closed for five days.

Justice Ali Baqir Najafi said that the doors of justice are never closed.

The public prosecutor said that the petitioner is seeking such relief based only on apprehensions, as per reports no operation plan has been made so far, but JITs have been formed in various cases to enforce the law if any evidence comes forward. Institutions will take action.

Justice Alia Neelam said that if the petitioners are on bail, then you cannot touch them, you will not do anything during Eid days.

While passing judgment on the petition, the larger bench restrained Imran Khan from harassing him and directed that the petitioner will be dealt with according to law till the hearing of the case in the light of the statement of the counsel for the Punjab government.

The High Court rejected Imran Khan’s plea for early hearing and said that the main petition is scheduled for hearing on May 2.
