The Election Commission of Pakistan has ordered a recount in 6 union councils of Karachi.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, recounting of votes will take place in UC 3 of Mominabad, UC 12 of Manghopir, UC 1 of Gulshan area of Eastern District, UC 3, 7 and 8 of Orangi.
It should be remembered that Jamaat-e-Islami had challenged the results of 6 union councils in the Election Commission, on which the Election Commission gave a reserved decision on the requests of Jamaat-e-Islami.
According to the inconclusive and unofficial results of local body elections held in Karachi so far, People’s Party is leading with 83 seats, while Jamaat-e-Islami is second with 82 seats and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is in third position with 40 seats.
