Reject outsourcing of exams, press conference of teachers' organizations

Karachi: The Sindh Professor and Lecturer Association (SPLA) and All Sindh Schools and College Association and other teachers’ organizations have rejected the decision to outsource the matric and inter exams in the province to a private institution.

Addressing an emergency press conference held at the Government SM Arts and Commerce College, the teachers’ organizations said that the Department of Universities and Boards should be abolished as it is the root of the problem, the universities should be handed over to the Sindh Higher Education Commission and the Board to the Department of College Education. go Ad hoc officers in the boards should also be removed.

He revealed that the daughter of Minister of Universities and Boards Ismail Rahu got second position in Inter in Hyderabad Board, this should also be investigated if the exams are outsourced, we will protest.

Teachers organizations said that the Department of Universities and Boards has destroyed the boards of Sindh itself, 5 boards do not have permanent chairmen while 7 boards do not have permanent controller of examination and secretary. The search committee trashed the persons it had recommended to the boards for appointment as chairman.

He said that an officer of grade 18 is conducting an inquiry against officers of grades 19 and 20 in the board. We are not against innovation but e-marking should be introduced at the appropriate time.

The leaders said that we will not allow a private company to assess the exam copies, tabulate and prepare the results. These news have worried the teachers, parents and students while the exams are one and a half months away and here the future of 1.4 lakh students of Sindh is being handed over to a private party.
