Islamabad: Actions against commercial banks involved in hoarding US dollars were stopped due to pressure from the IMF.

According to the sources, the commercial banks are accused of making extra profit of billions of rupees by manipulating the dollar rate.

In this regard, sources say that 6 local and 2 foreign banks are also involved in stockpiling dollars. If action was taken in this case, the government would have got billions of rupees in revenue.

On the other hand, the spokesman of the State Bank says that the matter of action against the banks is under the consideration of the government.
