Lahore: Karachi Kings suffered a crushing defeat against Lahore Qalandars in their last match of PSL 8.
Lahore Qalandars, who are at the first place on the points table, were defeated by 86 runs by Karachi Kings, who came at the last place. With this, the group stage of PSL 8 has come to an end and the playoff stage will begin from March 15 after a two-day rest.
Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim won the toss and elected to bat first in the 30th match of Pakistan Super League Season 8 at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Sunday.
Karachi Kings gave Lahore Qalandars a target of 197 runs to win, in response to which the entire team of Lahore Qalandars was bowled out by scoring 110 runs in 18.5 overs.

Hussain Talat was the top scorer by scoring 25 runs from Lahore Qalandars while Haris Rauf scored 18 runs and Fakhar Zaman scored 13 runs. Karachi Kings’ Imad Wasim, Akif Javed, Muhammad Umar and Imran Tahir took 2 wickets, James Fuller took one wicket.
Earlier, Karachi Kings scored 196 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Mohammad Akhlaq 51, captain Imad Wasim 45, Tayyab Tahir 40 and Ben Cutting 33 were outstanding.
From Lahore Qalandars, Zaman Khan, Hussain Talat and Haris Rauf scored 2, 2 while Dilbar Hussain dismissed one player.

Captain Lahore Qalandars Shaheen Shah Afridi was rested for the match against Karachi Kings while he was replaced by David Wesa as captain.
Mohammad Akhlaq made his debut as a wicketkeeper and batsman from Karachi Kings while Shane Dadeswell made his debut from Lahore Qalandars.
The first playoff match of PSL 8 will be played on March 15 between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans at 7 PM at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
