Despite the ban of Article 144 in Lahore, PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi directed the party workers to reach Zaman Park today.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi told the media late at night that it has been decided in the party meeting that Imran Khan will lead the rally today.
He also announced to challenge the decision of Section 144 and said that he will request the Election Commission Lahore that there is no justification for banning the rally if the elections have been announced.
Shah Mahmood said that he will go to Lahore High Court despite the holiday today against the ban.
He further said that the government wants to avoid elections and conflict.
It should be noted that after the announcement of Imran Khan to take out a rally today, the Punjab government has imposed Section 144 in Lahore, the taking out of rallies will be banned.
Caretaker Information Minister Aamir Mir has said that a PSL match, a 40 km marathon and a cycle race are going to be held in Lahore today, so Section 144 has been imposed to avoid any untoward incident.
