Islamabad:(PNP) Today, Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed across the country with devotion, sorrow, and determination to pay unwavering tribute to the Kashmiri people, their struggle for freedom, and their unparalleled sacrifices. This day renews the pledge that the Kashmiri people are not alone in their fight for the right to self-determination.
In Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, homage will be paid to the blood shed in occupied Kashmir. Special events, public gatherings, processions, rallies, seminars, and conferences will be held in cities across the country, highlighting the Kashmir issue before the conscience of the international community.
A human chain will be formed at Kohala Bridge to express full solidarity with the people of the occupied valley, while Pakistanis living around the world are also raising their voices today in support of the Kashmiri people.
It is a bitter reality that over the past seven decades, more than 600,000 Kashmiris have been martyred in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In the last 34 years alone, more than 96,000 Kashmiris have laid down their lives, over 7,000 people were martyred in custody, and more than 100,000 children were deprived of their fathers.
After 5 August 2019, Indian oppression further intensified. Over the past five years, 966 Kashmiris have been martyred, more than 25,000 arrested, and thousands subjected to torture in detention centers. In January 2025 as well, the cycle of state repression did not stop, claiming the lives of more innocent Kashmiris.
Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed with the message that Pakistan stands with the Kashmiri people, their struggle is our struggle, and the day will surely come when the sun of freedom will rise in the Kashmir Valley in all its glory.
