The Sindh High Court has sought a response from the petitioner’s lawyer on NADRA’s objections to the petition related to the citizenship of an Indian boy who married a Pakistani girl.
In front of a two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Sindh High Court, Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh, a hearing was held regarding the citizenship application of an Indian boy who married a Pakistani girl, where NADRA submitted objections to giving Pakistani citizenship to the Indian boy.
The court adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period after seeking a reply from the petitioner’s counsel on the objections of NADRA.
The lawyer of the petitioner Safia, Ezra Iqbal Advocate, had stated that the Pakistani Safia had married an Indian boy, Rafiq. Both husband and wife reside in Pakistan. Conditions are not favorable for Muslims to live in India. Both husband and wife have been living in Pakistan for many years and have 2 children. Nadra is not giving Pakistani citizenship to Rafiq and says that foreign men cannot get Pakistani citizenship.
