Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Bill Gates had a telephonic conversation in which the Prime Minister appreciated the support provided by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) to eradicate polio in Pakistan.
According to the statement, the Prime Minister appreciated the BMGF’s assistance to Pakistan in the recent floods as well.
Shahbaz Sharif informed Bill Gates about the efforts of the Health Minister and his team to eradicate polio.
The Prime Minister also reiterated Pakistan’s desire to strengthen its partnership with the Foundation.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is determined to eliminate all types of polio.
He expressed concern over new polio cases being reported in 2022. The Prime Minister said that there has been a hiatus in polio cases since September 2022.
In a telephonic conversation with Shahbaz Sharif, Bill Gates appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to eradicate polio.
Bill Gates reiterated his continued support through his foundation to ensure the eradication of polio.
The two leaders agreed to continue working together on common goals.
