Gunmen kidnapped 4 American citizens in Matamoros, Mexico.
According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the four Americans entered Matamoros in a white minivan from Texas.
The FBI’s San Antonio Division office said the vehicle was fired upon as it entered Mexico.
The agency says that the four Americans were taken away in a car by armed suspects.
The FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for the release of the hostages and the arrest of the kidnappers.
It should be noted that Matamoros is the center of various groups of the Gulf drug cartel.
The incident of shooting at the car of American citizens on Friday was so terrible that the American consulate also issued a warning message.
Mexican state police said the shooting incident also resulted in deaths and civilian injuries, but did not provide a toll.
