After 12 years, the Anti-Terrorism Court pronounced the verdict in the cases against Sohail alias Manna and Shakeel Burger.
A special anti-terrorism court in Karachi has sentenced Sohail alias Manna and Shakeel Burger for murder, police encounter, attempted murder and illegal weapons.
The court has sentenced Sohail alias Kala Manna to a total of 78 years while Shakeel Burger has been sentenced to a total of 71 years in prison.
The Karachi court sentenced Sohail alias Kala Manna and Shakeel alias Burger to life imprisonment twice.
The two criminals were sentenced to an additional 37 years in prison after being found guilty of encountering police, attempted murder and possession of illegal weapons.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5.5 lakh more on both the criminals.
The court decision has further stated that the police could not arrest Asim Lamba, Irshad Kantap, Waheed Ganja and Imran Maam, the fugitive accused of the encounter.
The accused were accused of killing Haji Firoz Khan’s son Ikhlas Khan and his driver Amanullah.
According to the police, on August 15, 2011, the accused opened fire on the victim’s car near Civic Center.
The accused were arrested on September 16, 2011 from Liaquatabad C1 area, both the accused belong to a political party.
The accused Sohail alias Kala Manna was an employee of Water Board and had disposed of cases under NRO.
