Peshawar: A police officer was killed and a passer-by was injured in the firing by unknown persons.
According to the police, the incident of firing took place in the limits of Sarband police station, where Assistant Sub-Inspector Haji Akbar son of Ali Akbar Khan was killed by unknown persons in the area of Tarish Khan Bhatti near Achini Canal. The deceased was posted in Hayatabad and was going for duty on a motorcycle.
A passer-by Mohammad Gul son of Mohammad Ismail was seriously injured in the firing.
As soon as the incident was reported, the police officers reached the spot with a heavy contingent and shifted the body to the hospital for post-mortem while the injured were taken to the hospital for medical assistance. The police have collected 10 30 bore shells and other evidences from the spot and started investigating the incident keeping in view various aspects.
A search operation has been started in the area to arrest the accused of firing.
