Karachi: The Sindh Assembly has demanded to legislate against the increasing use of drugs in educational institutions.

Speaking on the adjournment motion in the Sindh Assembly session, Sindh Health Minister Ezra Afzal Pechuho spoke about the use of drugs in educational institutions.

He said that children are using drugs due to the pressure of exams, school children across the province easily order drugs online, children are being addicted to drugs in educational institutions, we should conduct a campaign against drugs in educational institutions. .

He said that the ability of children who use drugs starts to decrease, school children use drugs in parties, they gather in farm houses where ice and other drugs are used. Should.

He said that if the child stays in his room more, then the parents should see the change in the children’s behavior is coming because of the drugs. Yes, even a ten-year-old child is involved in drugs, a child even commits murder under the influence of drugs, a child uses drugs, then he also involves his friends in it.

He further said that children also learn from parents, many parents also do drugs, then children also start doing drugs after seeing them, while the pressure of parents and school also leads children to drugs.

On the adjournment motion, Nida Khoro said that the war against drugs should be fought in the classrooms and not on the streets.

Member of Assembly Marvi Rashidi while debating the adjournment said that most of the drug use is happening in private schools, where drugs are used to look “cool” when one child takes drugs and the other does not. So it is said that you are not looking “cool”.

Sardar Khan Chandio said that everyone is talking about Karachi, there is no village left in Sindh where ice and opium are not being used, drugs are cultivated in our province. I have some videos that I will share. So someone has cultivated five acres of opium.

Muhammad Farooq, a member of Jamaat-e-Islami, said that the report of the narcotics department is alarming. Everyone should make a law together. There should be drug tests for students in educational institutions. Create a law to scare students that by using drugs, you will be expelled from the educational institution. will be out.

Deputy Speaker Naveed Anthony said that the adjournment motion should be sent to the cabinet so that effective legislation can be passed on it. On this, the Sindh Assembly handed over the adjournment motion regarding the use of drugs in educational institutions to the Sindh Cabinet.

Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly said that the Sindh Cabinet will take other necessary steps including legislation on this matter, the Sindh Cabinet should also review the discussion in the Sindh Assembly. Later, the session of the Sindh Assembly was adjourned indefinitely.
