Karachi: The court sentenced the accused who threw acid on his wife in Shahr Quaid to 14 years in prison with hard labor.
The case of throwing acid on the wife was heard in the session court Sharqi in which the prosecution was able to prove the crime and the accused also confessed his crime.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Ilyas Memon sentenced the accused Kausar Abbas to 14 years imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on his conviction.
The court said in the verdict that the accused will have to serve another 6 months of imprisonment for non-payment of fine.
The victim woman said that today after 3 years, justice has been received from the court, the husband used to ask for money for drugs, when he did not give the money, he threw acid on me due to which half of my body was burnt.
According to the police, the incident took place on March 2021. A case was registered against the accused in Aziz Bhatti police station.
