Decision to form a Rapid Response Force team to help farmers in Sindh

Karachi: It has been decided to form a Rapid Response Force team to help farmers in view of possible rains and floods in Sindh.

An introductory meeting was held with the officers of the Department of Agriculture under the chairmanship of Agriculture Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mehr, Secretary Agriculture Rafiq Ahmed Barro, DG Research Noor Muhammad Baloch, Director General Water Management and DG Engineering and other officers participated in the meeting. All the DGs of the Agriculture Department briefed the Minister about the performance of their wings and the ongoing agricultural schemes.

In the meeting, Agriculture Minister Sardar Mohammad Bakhsh Mehr instructed the officers and said that all the officers should improve their performance, the agriculture sector is very important and the officers should use all their abilities for its development, he said. That the trend of cotton cultivation in Sindh province is ending.

While giving further orders, the Minister of Agriculture said that more good varieties of cotton should be introduced in Sindh, so that farmers can cultivate cotton, water management, research wing, engineering, training wing and extension wing should be made more active.

Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mehr said that the use of technology is necessary to improve agricultural production in Sindh, the results of agricultural research must reach the farmers of the province, there is a need to update digitalization in the Sindh Agriculture Department, we are working here. have come to do and all will work together.

The Agriculture Minister said that in view of the possible floods and rains in Sindh, Rapid Response Force Team should be formed and kept alert so that the affected farmers can be helped immediately, all officers should make surprise visits and fulfill their targets, made in the Agriculture Department. There is a need to implement the laws, there is a need for funds in the department and they will work together.

While giving a briefing in the meeting, Director General Training said that training is being given to farmers who are engaged in farming on the roofs of houses, in which many farmers have been trained.

Giving further briefing, the officers said that in the third phase, Rs 60,000 subsidy is being given to the owner of land up to 12 and a half acres per farmer, a helpline center is running for farmers in Sindh, where information is being provided to them.
