Karachi: A several-day-old decomposed body of a Chinese resident was recovered from a flat in Clifton pass area of ​​Shahr Quaid.

According to the details, the residents of the flat located in Ghazri informed the police about the severe pollution, on which Nafri reached there and first knocked on the door and broke it when it did not open.

Inside the flat, the dead body of a foreigner was lying several days old, from which stench was emanating. The police took the body to the hospital for post-mortem.

According to SSP South Sajid Saduzai, the deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Chen Shen. He lived alone in a flat in Upper Ghazri area and did private work. Residents of the area complained to the police on Friday evening. Clifton police reached the spot and saw that the door was locked from inside. The police broke the door and went inside and saw that Chen Shen’s body was lying on the bed and the house was smelling.

He said that the police immediately called the crime scene team, which reached the spot, collected the evidence and opened the doors of the flat and closed the door.

The SSP further said that the Chinese resident did not interact with any of the residents of the flat and was occupied with his own work, he had been living in the same flat for two years. He said that after the post-mortem was conducted by the police at Jinnah Hospital, the body was kept in the mortuary and the police are investigating every aspect of the incident.

In this regard, the police have also informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy so that further action regarding the return of the body or the last rites can be carried out as soon as possible.
