Karachi: 49 tolas of gold ornaments were recovered from a passenger coming from Dubai.
Pakistan Customs conducted an operation at Jinnah Terminal International Arrival, foiling an attempt to smuggle gold jewelery from Dubai into Pakistan.
According to Additional Collector Customs Muhammad Faisal, ready-made gold jewelery worth Rs 1 crore 15 lakh was recovered from a passenger coming from Dubai. By flight EK 606, a passenger named Nizamuddin Brahvi had reached Karachi with 49 tolas of gold jewellery, who had tried to leave through the Green Channel.
Customs officials conducted a suspicious scan of the passenger’s luggage, which revealed the presence of gold jewellery.
Authorities have registered a case against the passenger and started investigation.
