Karachi Literature Festival concludes with its colorful sessions

Karachi: The 14th edition of the Karachi Literature Festival concluded with a large number of literature lovers.

According to Express News, various sessions at the festival gave the audience an opportunity to fully participate in debates and thought-provoking conversations.

The third day started with a discussion on the world’s most popular sport, cricket, the legendary cricketers Wasim Akram, Ali Khan, Ahmar Naqvi and Hadeel Obaid among the panelists enthralled the audience with their talk. Nadeem Farooq moderated the session. In the session, Wasim Akram’s book “Sultan” and Ali Khan’s book Cricket in Pakistan: Nation, Identity and Politics were launched.

A prominent panel discussion titled Faith and Intellect was held in Jasmine Hall, which was moderated by Ghazi Salahuddin. The panelists included Qaiser Bengali, Syed Salim Raza and Syed Shabar Zaidi, who spoke about faith and reason. Deeply discussed the connection between and reason in religious actions.

In the session entitled Climate Justice and Embedded Injustices, Ahmed Shabar, Zaha Tunio and Aafia Salam highlighted the impact of climate change on the vulnerable and emphasized collective efforts to tackle the issue.

The most prominent session on the third day of the festival was the session titled From Silver Screen to Mini Screen: Goldmine of OTT Media, which was moderated by Saifna Danish Elahi, the panelists included Faseeh Bari Khan and Sanam Saeed. Highlighted how digital streaming platforms, especially OTT platforms, have expanded the possibilities for content creators by providing more creative freedom and access to a wider audience.

Leading intellectuals of Pakistan, Javed Jabbar and Shamim Ahmed participated in the discussion on “The Equitable Tax”, the session focused on issues related to tax reform and its potential impact in achieving economic equity and justice.

In the session titled “Second Meeting”, Anwar Maqsood and his wife Imrana Maqsood interacted with Ahmed Shah at KLF’s Main Garden.

The session titled Saints, Sufis and Shrines: The Mystical Landscape of Sindh attracted a lot of attention.

In the session titled Pakistan’s Economy: Depth and Resilience, Miftah Ismail, Akbar Zaidi, Muhammad Aurangzeb and Azfar Ehsan discussed the challenges and opportunities facing Pakistan’s economy. The session also highlighted the potential of agriculture, industry and services sectors.

During the closing ceremony, Noori’s spectacular performance in the main garden captivated the audience. Ali Hamza and Ali Noor’s songs intoxicated the audience which will be remembered for ages.
