Candidate shortlist for vice chancellor of Urdu University, Karachi does not include any names

Karachi: Candidates for the post of Vice Chancellor of Federal Urdu University have been shortlisted, no candidate from Karachi is included in the list.

The possibility of transfer of the principal seat of Federal Urdu University from Karachi to Islamabad has become brighter because among the 10 names initially shortlisted by the search committee for the election and appointment of the vice chancellor of the university, only one candidate is from Karachi. Not included.

Most of the candidates from Urdu University were not shortlisted for the interviews and those candidates who reached the interview stage could not make it further, while any professor from the University of Karachi was also shortlisted for the interview. Not listed.

Only one candidate from Sindh, Dr. Madad Ali Shah, has been placed in the initial list of 10 candidates, but according to sources, the most likely possibility is that he will not be able to make his place in the list of 5 candidates to be sent to the University Senate.

The reason is that if the name of Dr. Madad Ali Shah remains until the final stage, there will be chances of the principal seat of Urdu University being present in Karachi, so it is thought that the list of final candidates includes the entire Sindh including Karachi. There will be no candidate from

In this way, after 21 years of its establishment, the principal seat of Urdu University will practically be transferred from Karachi and all this will be done in the presence of teachers representatives participating in the search committee of Urdu University because these candidates cannot play their effective role in this regard. .

Sources say that the Chairman HEC prevailed on the opinion of these representatives, further the Higher Education Commission sources said that the shortlisted candidates after three days of interviews by the search committee. Four other candidates are included, including Prof. Bajila Khan Shinwari, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah, Prof. Jahan Bakht, Prof. Salman Tahir, Prof. Shafiqur Rehman and Prof. Madad Ali Shah.

After verification of the documents of these 10 candidates, the names of 5 candidates will be sent to the University Senate whose marks are higher after final marking.

HEC sources also said that currently our chairman has not participated in the marking and the chairman will add his own marks to the average marking of each candidate.

It should be noted that the Senate will send 3 of the 5 names presented to the Chancellor/President of the University out of which the President will approve one of the names.
