India won the series 0-3 by defeating Afghanistan in the “Double Super Over” in the third T20 match.
India won the toss and elected to bat first against Afghanistan at the Channaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The Indian team scored 212 runs for 4 wickets against Afghanistan thanks to the aggressive innings of Rohit Sharma and Ranko Singh. Rohit scored 121 off 69 balls and Rinko Singh remained unbeaten on 69 off 39 balls.
In response to India’s 212 runs, Afghanistan also batted aggressively and scored 212 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and the match was tied.
On behalf of Afghanistan, Rahmanullah Garbaz and Ibrahim Zadran played an innings of 50 and 50 runs, while in the final overs, thanks to Gulbuddin Naib’s 55 runs off 23 balls, the Afghan team managed to equalize the match but could not win the match.
A super over was played between the two teams to decide the match, in which Afghanistan scored 16 runs in an over. In reply, the Indian team also scored 16 runs in the Super Over and the Super Over was also tied.
After the super over was tied, another super over was played, in which India scored 11 runs while batting first.
In response to the target of 12 runs in the second super over, the Afghanistan team could score only one run and thus India defeated Afghanistan in the third T20 match after a double super over and won the series three zero.
