Lahore: Four precious and rare blackbucks that disappeared four days ago from Lahore’s Wildlife Park have not yet been traced, the four negligent officials have been suspended.
According to the details, 7 rare and valuable black bucks were stolen from the Wildlife Park Jalu between the night of 11th and 12th January, the management claims that three black bucks were recovered from the fields near the park on Monday but 4 bucks are still missing. No clue found.
Deputy Director Wildlife Lahore Region Tanveer Ahmad Janjua told Express News that the netting of the black deer enclosure is broken in a few places while the netting has been cut in one place.
On learning about the incident, they have suspended four employees on duty while supervisor Sohail Ashraf has been issued a show cause notice.
According to Tanveer Janjua, three black bucks were recovered from nearby fields on Monday. He said that an FIR of deer theft has also been registered in Batapur police station.
It should be noted that even in the past there have been cases of theft/disappearance of valuable animals, especially deer, from various parks of Punjab Wildlife, including Jalopark.
Officials say that if the stolen/missing deer are not traced, departmental compensation will be charged from the negligent officials.
