Islamabad: The court reserved the decision on the request of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry’s remand in the corruption case.
In the private housing society fraud case, a fraud case has been registered against Fawad Chaudhry in the anti-corruption police station, on which he was produced in the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad. Fawad Chaudhry is accused of corruption of crores of rupees for housing approval, land NOC.
Fawad Chaudhry has been requested to be physically remanded by the anti-corruption department on charges of abuse of power as a minister and fraud of crores of rupees. The allegation states that the former minister received crores of rupees through cousin frontman Faq Shiraz.
In the anti-corruption Punjab case, prosecutor Adnan Ali and Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry appeared in the court of Judicial Magistrate Qazi Majid, where the prosecutor requested Fawad Chaudhry’s judicial remand. On this occasion Fawad Chaudhry was also present on the rostrum in the court room handcuffed.
Lawyer Faisal Chaudhry said in arguments that Fawad Chaudhry is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association. The country is not running according to the constitution and the law. No inquiry has been conducted. Notice issued but withdrawn. Attempted to bulldoze property. Attempts are being made to take political revenge. A politician who does not look good is put in handcuffs.
During the hearing, Prosecutor Adnan Ali requested a one-day remand and told the court that bail cannot be filed in Islamabad because Fawad Chaudhry is under arrest. The merits of the case cannot be decided at the stage of transitory remand. Fawad Chaudhary is accused of corruption as a minister.
Later, the court reserved the decision on the remand of Fawad Chaudhry on the request of the prosecution.
