A member who participated in the meeting told “Express” that there was a lot of discussion in the meeting that the requirement of PhD and professorship should be abolished for the candidate, but most of the members are not ready to abolish the requirement of PhD. happened

He further said that a senior member insisted that the university needs an administrator and not a researcher, so the condition of professor should be removed and on the insistence of the said member, this condition was removed.

Apart from this, an informal discussion was also held in the meeting regarding the transfer of the principal seat (Vice-Chancellor and other key administrative offices) of Urdu University from Karachi to Islamabad. See you later.

On a question from “Express”, Chairman HEC said that the principal seat is written in Islamabad in the University Act, so it should be there. The vice-chancellor office of the university also used to be in Lahore earlier, but it was later shifted to Islamabad, so why can’t it be in Urdu University?
