The request to summon a special court to the President in the cipher case was rejected

The trial is being conducted under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, by a special court

Rawalpindi: The special court has said that the trial of the ongoing cipher case of former chairman PTI Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Adiala jail is not being conducted under the new amendments but under the Secret Act 1923.

The cipher case was heard in Adiala Jail. Former Chairman PTI, Shah Mehmood Qureshi was produced in the court room.

Despite the promise, the media was not allowed to cover the hearing.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi asked the judge to tell us under which Official Secrets Act 1923 or 2023 we are being tried. The state is also in denial.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi requested the President of Pakistan to summon the court and said that the President of Pakistan should be summoned to the court and take oath whether he has approved the new act or not, if not Imran Khan, at least my case should be taken out of jail. I should be heard.

The court told Shah Mehmood that the trial of you and the ex-chairman PTI cannot be separated, this case is inter-linked.

The court told him that your objection is over, there are public and journalists in the court today, your trial will be under Section 5 and 9 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923.

When the lawyers wanted to express disbelief at the presence of the “unknown public”, the judge stopped them from speaking.

Chairman PTI stated that I as the Prime Minister ordered an inquiry into this matter, the people involved are powerful and efforts are being made to save them, I fear no one except Allah, by locking us up like goats. It was given while Nawaz Sharif was brought here from there.

Judge Abulhasnat Zulqarnain adjourned the hearing of the case till December 4, requiring the presence of only the accused. Copies of the challan will be distributed to the accused at the next hearing.

After the hearing, PTI lawyers talking to the media said that Chairman PTI twice indicated to boycott the trial and also recorded a protest for not having a fair trial, more than 50 media people are outside the jail. Only 3 people were allowed to watch the proceedings, while ten prisoners were also made to sit during the hearing in the name of the public, the public were planted people, today’s proceedings were not an open trial in any way but a violation of the order of the Islamabad High Court. was
