According to the police, a police officer named Ashraf Khan, who was going for polio duty on Mandan Road, was killed by the firing of the accused on a motorcycle. After firing on the officers, the unknown accused on the motorcycle escaped.
After the incident, the police cordoned off the area and started a search operation and shifted the body of the police officer to the district headquarters hospital in Bannu.
