Quetta: In a statement issued by Kanpur Electric Supply Company Limited (KESCO), it has been stated that action is being taken against the defaulters of electricity, 424 FIRs have been registered so far while recovery of more than 1 billion 79 crore rupees has been done.
According to the details, actions are being taken against the defaulters on behalf of KISCO throughout Balochistan. According to the statement, 83 shunt and tempered meters have been provided in Quetta city, while connections of 439 defaulters in Loralai, Sibi, Pashteen, Khuzdar and Makran circles have been disconnected for non-payment.
It has been stated in the statement that 1108 applications have been filed so far for legal action against electricity thieves while 424 FIRs have been registered against electricity thieves.
Kesco spokesperson said that 61 lakh 13 thousand units have been charged as a fine to electricity thieves, the cost of electricity units is 30 crore 45 lakh 54 thousand rupees.
Apart from this, 26 crore 96 lakh 5 thousand rupees have also been received as fine.
It is further stated in the statement that in the ongoing campaign against defaulters, more than 1 billion 79 crore rupees have been collected from 95947 defaulters in the form of arrears.
