Islamabad: Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has said that the President did not consult us on the statement of a one-state solution for Palestine.
The Senate meeting was chaired by Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, in which Senator Razarbani expressed his views and said that the President of Pakistan made a telephone contact with the Palestinian President. Senator Razarbani said that he demands the resignation of the President on this matter.
Later, Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani responded in the Senate and said that the President did not consult the Ministry of Foreign Affairs while issuing a statement on the one-state solution for Palestine.
He said that Senator Raza Rabbani is absolutely right that our stand has been a two-state solution for Palestine. Pakistan has always maintained that there is a two-state solution to the Palestinian issue. We issued a clarification statement after the President’s statement. Later, the Senate session was adjourned till 10:30 on Friday morning.
It should be noted that the statement of the President Dr. Arif Alvi was released by the President’s House, in which it was stated that the President had a phone conversation with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas and proposed a state solution to the Palestinian issue.
