Peshawar: Additional District and Sessions Judge Abdul Qayyum Siddiqui sentenced accused Shah Fahad to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5 lakh after being found guilty in the drug trafficking case.

The court declared co-accused Syed Wahab a fugitive for absconding and issued a perpetual arrest warrant for his arrest.

According to the police, the accused were smuggling drugs in huge quantity through flying coach. Accused Shah Fahad was detained at Bara Old Check Post, where 37 kg of opium was recovered from his possession. An FIR has been registered against the accused under the KP Narcotics Act 2019. During the investigation, co-accused Syed Wahab was also named in the case.
