Bird hunting season in Sindh starts today, will end in March

Karachi: The Wildlife Department has started the hunting season in Sindh province from today (Sunday, November 5) and will end on March 3, 2024.

It will be necessary to obtain a permit for hunting birds, apart from local people, foreign visitors can also get a hunting permit by paying a fee of 100 dollars, hunters can hunt 10 pheasants and 15 turkeys on one license, hunting will not be allowed after sunset .

The Sindh Wildlife Department has issued a notification starting the hunting season in Sindh province with the permission of the competent authority.

According to the ongoing announcement of the Sindh Wildlife Department, hunting can be done only on Saturdays and Sundays with approved shotguns, the areas prohibited for hunting are Kherthar National Park, Wildlife Sanctuaries, Cantonment Areas, PAF Base, Urban and rural boundaries are included.

During the hunting season, according to the laws, the wildlife emergency has been implemented, it will be necessary to obtain a permit for hunting birds, apart from local people, foreign guests can also get a hunting permit by paying a fee of 100 dollars. A fixed number of 10 pheasants and 15 pheasants can be hunted on one licence.

According to the rules, hunting after sunset is prohibited, on the days allowed for hunting, Sindh Wildlife Department staff will be on patrol, field officers, inspectors and watchers and other staff will be on regular patrol to enforce the rules. Fixing decoys for hunting birds, trapping and trading in them is illegal, which is strictly prohibited and legal action will be taken for violation.

Some districts have been completely closed for pheasant and pheasant hunting, including Sanghar district, Nawabshah, Nowshero Feroze, Tharparkar, while the areas opened for pheasant and pheasant hunting are Pannu Aqil of Sukkur district. Sukkur, New Sukkur, Ghotki District includes Tehsil Ghotki, Khangarh Sharif and Dharki among other areas.
