Islamabad: Federal Health Minister Dr. Nadeem Jan has said that the polio virus has been confirmed in the environmental sample of Karachi.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, the federal minister has said that the polio virus has been found in the environmental sample in Karachi district of Sindh, which is genetically related to the polio virus cluster in Afghanistan.
Dr. Nadeem Jan said that measures are being taken on an emergency basis to eradicate polio.
The Federal Minister of Health appealed to the parents and said that in the polio campaign, children must be vaccinated against polio and protect their children from permanent disability.
