The first convoy of illegal Afghans from Karachi left for Chaman

Karachi: The return of illegal immigrants living in Shahr-Quaid has officially started, the first convoy consisting of four buses was sent to Chaman from the holding camp established in Old Haji Camp under tight security.

After the end of the government deadline, the return of illegal immigrants living in Shahr-Quaid has officially started. Yesterday, the first convoy consisting of four buses left for Chaman from the holding camp established in Old Haji Camp under tight security.

The first convoy was dispatched under the supervision of Commissioner Karachi Saleem Rajput, DIG South Syed Haider Raza and Deputy Commissioner Kemari Junaid Iqbal. There were 120 migrants including women and children in the convoy being dispatched from the holding camp.

The departing buses were also sprinkled with flowers by the district administration and garlands were also presented. There were 30 migrants in each departing bus. .

Escort includes 2 pilots and 4 police mobiles, 3 policemen have been boarded in each bus for the security of the migrants in the convoy.

Earlier, DC Kemari Junaid Iqbal while talking to the media representatives said that the immigrants in the buses are being transferred to Chaman, the buses will be brought to Chaman under full security and the illegal immigrants will be taken to the Chaman border. But will be handed over to the Afghan authorities.

He said that all the facilities are being provided to the illegal immigrants in the holding camp, three meals a day are being provided to the immigrants while medicines and doctor facilities are also being provided in the holding camp.

He said that an immigrant woman in the holding camp was pregnant, due to which her family was detained. There are no documents.

Kemari of DC said that all the migrants are doing well by providing facilities, he said that the second convoy of migrants will be sent on Thursday night or Friday morning.
