Lahore: Under Al-Khidmat Foundation’s “Smog Free Lahore” campaign, 10,000 saplings were planted in the name of Palestinian martyrs.
In this regard, a grand program was organized near Lahore Thokar Niaz Beg with the support of PHA in which hundreds of volunteers planted 10 thousand saplings. The main objective of the campaign is to encourage people to plant more trees and provide a clean environment by making it smog free.
Al-Khidmat Foundation Vice Presidents Dr. Mushtaq Mangat, Syed Ehsanullah Waqas, Al-Khidmat Volunteer Head Sanan Akbar, Senior Manager Media Relations Shoaib Hashmi, Plantation Head Abdullah Mohsin, heads of various universities, students and volunteers from various walks of life were present in the program. Concerned ladies and gentlemen participated.
On this occasion, Dr. Mushtaq Mangat said that today’s program of Al-Khidmat Mega Plantation Drive has been attributed to the martyrs of Palestine. Al-Khidmat Foundation is participating in relief activities with the support of international charities and will also play its role in reconstruction and rehabilitation after the ceasefire. The purpose of today’s event is to make people realize that we have not forgotten the martyrs of Gaza.
He further said that in view of increasing pollution, plantation is the need of the hour and Al Khidmat Foundation is organizing plantation drive through mega plantation drive across the country. He appreciated the role of PHA in making the campaign a success.
Syed Ehsanullah Waqqas said that it is welcome for the youth to actively participate in the campaign. He said that even planting a tree is an act of charity, so he appealed to the people to actively participate in this campaign and play their role in the improvement of the environment.
