Sindh High Court;  Extension of injunction against collection of municipal charges in electricity bills

Karachi: The Sindh High Court has extended the injunction against the collection of municipal charges in K Electric bills till November 22.

In the High Court, the petitions of Jamaat-e-Islami and others against the addition of municipal tax in the bills of K-Electric were heard, but the hearing was adjourned due to the absence of special judicial assistants.

The court extended the injunction against collection of municipal charges in electricity bills till November 22.

It should be noted that the Sindh High Court has issued a restraining order on the municipal tax through the bills of K-Electric on the request of Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem.

The court had restrained K Electric from collecting municipal charges from citizens through bills. Hafiz Naeem filed a petition against adding municipal tax to electricity bills.
