Atlanta: Researchers from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have issued a warning regarding the mental state of healthcare workers across the country.
A new report from the Institute, using nationwide survey data between 2018 and 2022, found that nearly half of health workers reported mental, physical and emotional stress in 2022.
The report also revealed that reports of harassment at work by healthcare workers have also doubled.
A recently released report also found that healthcare workers face worse mental health outcomes than employees in other industries.
The findings come after the largest health care worker strike in U.S. history, in which 75,000 health care workers walked out in five states and the District of Columbia, citing chronic stress and chronic staffing shortages. .
