Karachi: The Sindh government has decided on the distribution of resources and constituencies based on the results of the census.

Chief Secretary Sindh Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput presided over a meeting on digital box and census was held at Sindh Secretariat. Secretary Home Saeed Ahmed Mangrijo, Provincial Commissioner Statistics Rafiq Ahmed Barro, Secretary School Education Ghulam Akbar Laghari, all commissioners and deputy commissioners attended the meeting.

While presiding over the meeting, Chief Secretary Sindh said that the first digital box and census in the country will be held from March 1 to April 1, for which the Sindh government has ensured all security and other arrangements, digital box and census are very important. As census results are used for future policy planning, resource allocation, delimitation of constituencies, digital boxes and geo-tagging of all buildings in the census will be carried out.

Chief Secretary Sindh Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput further said that 43838 blocks have been constructed in 30 districts of the province. Committees have been formed at district and taluka level for digital census.

In the meeting, Chief Secretary Sindh Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput directed all divisional commissioners to ensure digital census in flood affected areas as well.

In the meeting, Statistics Commissioner Rafiq Ahmed Barro said that the phase of self-enumeration will take place from February 20 to March 3.
