New Delhi: Netherlands bowler Boss de Lede holds the record for the worst bowling in the World Cup.

The Netherlands were defeated by Australia by the biggest margin in the history of the ICC World Cup by 309 runs in the match played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday. In response to 400 runs, the Dutch team could score only 90 runs.

In the match, two Australian batsmen David Warner and Glenn Maxwell scored centuries while Steven Smith scored 71 runs and Marnos Labushin played a brilliant innings of 62 runs.

Australian batsman Glenn Maxwell also took the honor of scoring the fastest century in the history of the World Cup while batting smoky. He completed his century in 40 balls and was dismissed for 106 runs.

Dutch bowler Boss de Lede became the most expensive bowler during the match who broke the record for the most expensive bowling spell in the history of ODI by scoring 115 runs in 10 overs. He also took two wickets.

Earlier, the worst bowling record in the World Cup was held by Australia’s Mick Lewis, who scored 113 runs against South Africa in 2006 and did not take any wickets.

During the current tournament, in the match against South Africa, Adam Zampa of Australia did not take any wicket for 110 runs. It was the third-worst bowling performance in the World Cup.

Former Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan are on the fourth position. Wahab Riaz gave 110 runs in the match against England in 2016 and could not take any wicket. Rashid Khan scored 110 runs against England in 2019 and did not take any wicket.
