Rawalpindi: The Anti-Terrorism Court of Islamabad approved the request to hand over Parvez Elahi to Anti-Corruption Lahore, the anti-corruption team took him and left Adiala Jail for Lahore.
According to Express News, a request was filed in the Anti-Terrorism Court Islamabad on behalf of Anti-Corruption Lahore to hand over Pervez Elahi for investigation. Pervez Elahi’s corridor sought remand.
Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain granted the request and handed over Parvez Elahi to the anti-corruption authorities on a one-day remand, after which the anti-corruption team took Parvez Elahi from Adiala jail and left.
Civil court order to refer anti-corruption authorities to anti-terrorism court
Earlier, the petition filed in the civil court on the issue of extradition of former Punjab Chief Minister and PTI President Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was heard. The Civil Court rejected the request to hand him over to Anti-Corruption Lahore. The court remarked that the former chief minister is under the custody of the Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court, he should be referred there.
It should be noted that anti-corruption Lahore had filed a request for the extradition of former Punjab Chief Minister and a one-day judicial remand.
Later, the anti-corruption team left for Lahore, the federal capital, Islamabad, where it applied to the Anti-Terrorism Court for Parvez Elahi’s extradition.
