Utility Stores Corporation made sugar more expensive as soon as it became available.
According to sources, the price of subsidized cheap sugar at utility stores has been increased by Rs.8 per kg, while the price of non-subsidized sugar has also been increased by Rs.8 per kg.
According to sources, the implementation of sugar price hike at utility stores will be immediate. The price of sugar per kg has been fixed at Rs 155 for general consumers and Rs 109 per kg for BISP customers.
Earlier, the price of sugar for general consumers was Rs 147 per kg while the old price of sugar under subsidy was Rs 101 per kg.
