Karachi: The Sindh High Court issued notices to the Election Commission and other parties on the application against the decision of the Election Tribunal and Returning Officers to approve the nomination papers of Murtaza Wahab and reject the applications of Jamaat-e-Islami candidates.

According to the report, under the chairmanship of Acting Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, a hearing was held on the petition against the decision of the Election Tribunal and Returning Officers to reject the applications of Jamaat-e-Islami candidates.

The petitioner’s lawyer, Usman Farooq, advocate, stated that according to the local government law, the vote of the union council from which the candidate is participating in the local government elections should also be registered in the same UC. Ignored.

Advocate Usman Farooq Advocate said that Murtaza Wahab’s vote is registered in Ghazri, he cannot participate in the elections from Kemari and Ibrahim Hydari, Murtaza Wahab should be prevented from participating in the elections.

The Election Tribunal upheld the decision of the Returning Officer, the Returning Officer accepted Murtaza Wahab’s nomination papers as valid.
