Islamabad: The federal government has informed the Supreme Court in a separate petition regarding the commencement of trials of civilians in military courts.
The federal government said in a separate application that 102 people were arrested in the light of the incidents of May 9 and 10, the trial is being conducted keeping in mind the interests of the detainees and those who were not found guilty in the trial in the military courts were acquitted. will be done.
According to the miscellaneous petition, the trial in the military courts will be subject to the judgment of the ongoing case in the Supreme Court. Those found guilty after trial in military courts will receive light sentences, while those involved in the May 9 and 10 incidents who have served jail terms will be released.
After the military trial, the convicts will be able to approach the relevant forum against the punishments as per law. In the light of the Supreme Court’s order of August 3, the court is being informed about the commencement of the trials.
The persons taken into military custody were arrested under the Pakistan Army Act 1952 and the Official Secrets Act. Civil Lines are involved in the attack on Faisalabad, the arrested persons are in custody for their involvement in the attack on Hamza Camp, Bannu Camp and Gujranwala Camp.
It should be noted that the hearing of the case against the trial of civilians in the Supreme Court and military courts will be held tomorrow.
A 5-member larger bench headed by Justice Ijazul Hassan will hold the hearing tomorrow at 11:30 am. Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Mazahir Naqvi and Justice Ayesha Malik are included in the bench.
The last hearing of the case against the trial of civilians in military courts was held on August 3.
