Former finance minister and economist Dr. Hafeez Pasha says that even if an agreement is reached with the IMF, we will not be able to get out of the difficulties.
Talking to Geo News program Aaj with Shahzeb Khanzada, the former finance minister said that if three or four steps were taken at a time, inflation would increase significantly.
Hafeez Pasha said that the government should have taxed those sectors which do not pay taxes, inflation will be fast and its rate will be at least 35%.
He said that the government’s policy of not doing anything since October was inappropriate, if they had taken timely decisions since October, the IMF program would have been there.
Hafeez Pasha added that despite being in the IMF program since September, the confidence has not increased, the reason for the lack of confidence is the decline in foreign exchange reserves.
