On the appointment of Mir Zubair as IG Balochistan, all his gunmen, who were Sindh police officers, went to Balochistan with him. Mir Zubair had moved to Islamabad after his retirement, while his gunmen had also moved to Islamabad with him and were performing duty there while Sindh Police was giving them salary.
The deceased Muhammad Qasim was also in Islamabad during those days. Muhammad Qasim’s brothers have a milk business. A few days ago, his brother Muhammad Azam had opened a new dairy in Lasi Goth. Mohammad Azam said that he came to Karachi 2 days ago to congratulate the opening of the shop.
According to the brother, on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, Qasim, Zowar and he had dinner at the shop, after which Qasim and Zowar went to a nearby house while he slept at the shop. After some time he got information that someone shot his brother Zowar, he thought that bandits shot him while taking away his new motorcycle, but he immediately ran home and found that Qasim has been shot, who was lying in the drawing room of the house covered in blood.
Mohammad Azam said that when he checked Qasim’s pulse, he realized that Qasim’s body had become cold, but the doctors confirmed it after reaching Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The family members said that at the time of the incident Qasim was sleeping in the drawing room while his sister-in-law and 2 brothers were sleeping in other rooms.
When the mother of the deceased reached the drawing room after hearing the sound of firing, she saw that blood was flowing from the body of Muhammad Qasim, on which she made a noise and gathered the other family members.
One of the windows of the room where Qasim was sleeping opened on the main road. The window was open at the time of the incident. It is suspected that the accused opened fire from the same stand.
